Every collector mentioned in these stories is the same person. Every target is the same person. Version 1, version 58, version 63, version 247. All the same individual at different points in their existence. The gender presentation might change. The body might be different. But the core identity is singular and constant.
You are collecting from yourself. You are being collected from by yourself. You created the system by accident when you broke your first promise. And you're the only one who can break free.
